Accedian is pleased to announce release 24.05 of Skylight sensor capture.
Headline Features
IPv6 support for Netflow
- The sensor capture now supports Netflow IPv6 records
Custom attributes for sensors
- To ease management of sensors, filtering on custom attributes have been added to the capture sensor management panels in the user interface
VXLAN support for multiple ports
- New field to support multiple, comma-separated UDP ports for VXLAN parsing
Updated user interface for predefined applications
- In the list of auto-detected applications there is now an icon for each category indicating if one or more sensors have this application category enabled.
- Capture sensor minimum footprint reduced
- To support smaller deployments, edge / vCPE / whitebox, the sizing guidelines have been updated adding a smaller option. See Deployment, Range and Sizing for details.
Versions and Upgrading
This release has version number 24.05.nn_mm for the capture sensor.
Upgrading from previous sensor capture releases is supported back to release 21.12.
Upgrades from versions older than 21.12 should go through 21.12 before being upgraded to 23.11.
Note
Next release after 24.05 (in second half of 2024) will only support N-1 upgrades, this means that all users should upgrade to 24.05 in a timely manner. Once the next release after 24.05 is rolled out on Analytics, capture sensors running 23.11 or earlier releases will not be possible to manage from Analytics user interface. Sensors with 23.11 or earlier will have to be manually upgraded.
Notable Feature Deprecations and Cautions
The following features will no longer be available once your system is upgraded to analytics 24.05.
- PCAPs created with 23.11 or earlier version that are stored on capture sensor local disk will not be downloadable from Analytics after upgrading to 24.05.
- OS detection feature removed due to obsoleteness.
