Overview
Cisco is pleased to announce release 24.09 of Provider Connectivity Assurance Sensor Capture.
Capture sensors and orchestration supports n-1 backwards compatibility, this means that once PCA (formerly Analytics) with capture orchestration has been upgraded to 24.09, only capture sensors with versions 24.05 and 24.09 will be able to register.
Make sure all capture sensors are at least at 24.05 release level before PCA instance is updated.
Headline Features
-
Added support for HTTPs proxy
- Parameters for HTTPs websockets proxy has been added to the capture sensor configuration CLI. Since these parameters have to be configured locally (like the sensor IP address) they are shown read-only in the sensor management GUI in PCA and cannot be changed from that interface. See Sensor Management for more details.
-
New deployment profile
- A new, smaller, deployment profile has been added for environments with limited resources. As small configurations as 2 vcores can now be supported. See Deployment, Range and Sizing for a list of all supported options.
Versions and Upgrading
This release has version number 24.09.14 for the capture sensor.
Capture sensors and orchestration supports n-1 backwards compatibility, this means that once PCA with capture orchestration has been upgraded to 24.09, only capture sensors with versions 24.05 and 24.09 will be able to register.

Known Issues
| category | description | workaround |
|---|---|---|
| User interface | Data - Cipher suites and TLS version display the numerical value instead of the corresponding text field | none |
| User interface | Save button for sensor configuration is enabled even if there are validation errors of the form contents | Be alert on error messages when entering configuration in the fields, and check before clicking the Save button |
| User interface | Checkbox selection under Sensors clears if you click outside of the checkbox which can be irritating | Be steady on the hand when selecting multiple items using the checkboxes |
| User interface | Sorting on status for PCAP schedules does not sort in order of time created | Use search function to find the PCAP instead of column header sort |
| User interface | Changing sensor host name is not reflected immediately in the table view | Wait 30 seconds after changing the host name and saving the change, use the refresh button |
