Skylight Solution Release 23.11 and 23.12
Welcome to a new chapter in Accedian's history! We have now joined Cisco, and are proud to be releasing this first update as Cisconians!
Skylight 23.11. and 23.12 together are a set of releases chalk full of new and exciting features. Take a look, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
Skylight performance analytics
Skylight performance analytics 23.11 introduces the following features and enhancements:
- Real-time metrics reporting: Avoid delays and expedite troubleshooting workflows
- Native support for Cisco MDT data: Limited availablility of a new MDT ingestion capability which will reduce professional service engagement requirements
- Roadrunner polling High Availability: Avoid missing polling intervals

Skylight orchestrator
Skylight orchestrator 23.12 includes:
- Discovery trigger for remote devices: Added discovery trigger support for SFP Compute and modules, for both configuration jobs and flow profiles
- Trigger flow executor on discovery of a Skylight element: added support for triggering a flow profile executor on discovery of a Skylight performance element
- Flex SAT Flow Template: Added ability to create, edit, and delete Y.1564 tests from Skylight orchestrator via flow template
- Support for Flex 25: Added Flex 25 support for Discovery, Commissioning, Inventory, and Alarms
- Export and transfer support for executors: An Executor Export tab has been implemented in the Commission page. This tab is used to enable export and configure transfer settings
- Consumption-based model for Licensing: Removed feature licenses and added a consumption-based model for licensing.
- Red Hat Docker environment: The Red Hat operating system can deploy a Skylight orchestrator Docker container. Previously, Ubuntu operating system was the exclusive option.
Notable deprecations from Skylight orchestrator:
- XML export interface: This interface has been deprecated
- Charting deprecation: PM and Usage visualizations are no longer possible
This release will be the final delivery of Skylight orchestrator as a VM. As such, it will receive a Long Term Support designation for minimum of 2 years. Future releases will be delivered as Docker containers.

Skylight sensor: agent
Skylight sensor: agents 23.11 introduces the following features and enhancements:
- Trace and throuput test scheduling support: Schedule trace and throughput tests via API and through the UI
- Agent actuate now supports defining MOS codec parameters individually per session.communicated to the Skylight Gateway for exposure to upstream orchestration tools via RESTConf
- Updated sessionId rules: can now contain both numbers, letters, underscore, dash and dot. The regular expression describing the new rule is: ^[a-zA-Z0-9][a-zA-Z0-9_.-]*$
- Lowercase and uppercase string support: Agent metadata now allows both lowercase and uppercase strings.

Skylight sensor: capture
Skylight sensor: capture 23.11 introduces the following features and enhancements:
- SaaS application database: The sensor capture now contains a database of common SaaS application definitions that is updated every major release
- New configuration parameter "vmagent": Health-monitoring of the capture sensors have been added for troubleshooting purposes.

Skylight Interceptor
Skylight Interceptor 23.11 introduces the following features and enhancements:
- DSL rules feed: Added Accedian-curated DSL rules, manage DSL detections for all deployments simultaneously
- Alert cluster view: Introduced a different way of viewing incidents
- Honeypot enhancements: Added support for arm64 arch to support small form factor boards such as Raspberry Pi
- Allowlist enhancements: Add condition values from an alert, view a list of existing allowlist rules for a detection, use time condition templates, instant navigation to the detection page.
