Executive Summary

Enjoy a better UX experience with many optimizations introduced in the 22.04 release. While we fixed and improved things, we've also been working on new features you can enjoy by exploring this release.

  1. Enhancements to Analysis - New UX to navigate a drill down with new templates you can share and customize
  2. Dashboards Personalization Permissions Improvements - Your remote teams can set a local timezone for their dashboard. You could already export csv data from table widgets and now you can do the same for line charts.
  3. Performance - We've provided customers current and historical time intervals options to improve query response times.
  4. TCP Throughput Tests - We've introduced a way for you to compare your TCP throughput tests initiated on Sensor: Agents.

Headline Features

Analysis Template Enhancements

Release 21.06 introduced our new drill down workflow and Analysis module, but with it we lost some flexibility we had with the old analysis templates around sharing. We've filled those gaps:

  • Sharing support - users can create their own private analysis templates, and optional share like other resources to user groups
  • Save more customizations - things like widget config, arrangement, hidden categories weren't being saved before and costing our users time when they went to analyze issues to re-setup their view.
  • New alert type specific views
  • Import and export options

Local time zone

Users can now override the system default time zone and enjoy seeing the UI reflect their time.

Category and Metric Visibility

Analytics now supports restricting the metadata categories and specific metrics that the UI will present to users. User groups already supported the ability to restrict what data a set of users can have access to, and this extension will help hide or simplify the interface.
Ideal for customer portal use cases!

TCP Throughout

Our sensor agents can be used to run throughout test as one off or scheduled tests. Analytics now provides users with a better way of interacting with this data, including setting a test as the baseline, and comparing multiple test runs against each other.

Current and Historical Data

For customers utilizing our pre-aggregation capability for enhanced data retention and more performant query responses, you'll notice a change to the time interval panel as we're now limiting the duration of the interval you can query when it needs to include current (<2 hours old) data.
