What are they?
Filters can:
- Select specific data sets for:
- Dashboards, Sections, and cards
- Analysis, Reports, Inventory and configuration
- Directly include or exclude data sets
- Have a hierachy. Dashboard filters influence the whole dashboard whereas a card-level filter will only influence the card.
- Be saved
- Support:
- Categorical results such as Metadata, Applications and Zones
- Metric results Capture or session
- Wildcards and selections
- Alerts
- Simultaneously include and exclude IPs. This way, you can include IP ranges, but exclude specific IPs if needed.
- Simultaneously include and exclude zones. This way, you can include zone ranges, but exclude specific zone if needed.

Options
- Define a filter opens dialog box
- Bookmarked, Saved and Recently used – Saves time and remembers per user
- Starting to type in box, searches for category, metric or alert
- Groups for rapid filter definition – Alert, Capture, Session
- Selection dependent options. Based on type
- Filters only apply to the data type they relate (Alert, Session & Capture)
- Filters are retained on linked dashboards and into Analysis
- Filters in widgets are defined and changed only during authoring
- Filters can be click activated from tables, line charts, TopN expand and Analysis
