Time Interval Offset

For sections and cards in a Monitoring dashboard, you can override the currently-selected time interval by offsetting the interval by a specified number of steps or days back.

  • Offset by steps: For example, 1 step back of a PT1H interval from 08:00-09:00 is 07:00-08:00
  • Offset by days: For example, 1 day back of 08:00-09:00 Jan 20 is 08:00-09:00 Jan 19

A Time Interval Offset icon indicates that a time interval offset has been applied to the widget.

This feature can be helpful when you want to compare data against a specific period in the past relative to the current interval.

For example, this image shows two Timeseries widgets side-by-side; the left widget shows data for the current interval and the right widget shows data for 1 step back:

To offset the current time interval:

  1. While authoring a card in a Monitoring dashboard, click Add time interval offset.
  2. Specify the number of steps or days back from the configuring the applicable field.
    • Offset by steps
    • Offset by days
  3. Click ✔ .
