Dashboard Sections

Sections are a great way to hide information in order to:

• Save screen real estate
• Improve dashboard loading speed (data within collapsed sections is not queried)

A section contains one or multiple cards. Each section also holds an additional filter on top of the dashboard filter. All the cards within the section will be affected by any filter on the section.

Create a Section

To create a new section

1. In the dashboard editor, click Author in the upper-right corner.

2. Click the + Section button.
   

3. Provide a Name for the section, then click the checkmark button.

4. Click the (...) ellipsis beside the section title for the following options:

• Add card to section
• Clone section
• Reorder section
• Delete section
  

Note: Click the + (filter) icon on the right of the section title to add a filter specific to this section.

5. Click Save to finalize dashboard updates.
   Note: Once saved, the current collapsed or expanded state of the sections will become the default view for all viewers.

Clone a Section

To clone a section

1. In the dashboard editor, click Author in the upper-right corner.

2. Locate the section that you would like to clone.

3. Click the (...) ellipsis beside the section title.

4. Select Clone section from the dropdown menu.
   

5. Click Save to finalize dashboard updates.

Move a Card Between Sections

To move a card between sections

Note: All cards and filters belonging to the section will also be deleted.

1. In the dashboard editor, click Author in the upper-right corner.

2. Select the card that you would like to move.
   The Card details pane will open.

3. Use the dropdown menu in the Section field of the Card Details pane to select the section where you want to move the card.
   

4. Click Save to finalize dashboard updates.

Delete a Section

To delete a section

Note: All cards and filters belonging to the section will also be deleted.

1. In the dashboard editor, click Author in the upper-right corner.

2. Locate the section that you would like to delete.

3. Click the (...) ellipsis beside the section title.

4. Select Delete section from the dropdown menu. A confirmation window will appear before deletion.
   

5. Click Delete.

6. Click Save to finalize dashboard updates.
