Network Optimization

Prev Next

On the Network Optimization traffic metrics page, you can review various network KPIs and system performance statistics. Additionally, the usage page allows you to monitor L2 downlink throughput against the maximum licensed throughput. The page initially shows statistics for the current day. After you select your desired search parameters, select Submit to refresh the page and display the corresponding statistics.

Traffic Metrics

To view network-wide traffic metrics, navigate to the traffic metrics page by opening Network Optimization and selecting Traffic Metrics in the sidebar.

The following metrics are displayed:

  • Flow Interactions Breakdown: This shows the composition of the network, categorized by Managed Elephant Flow, Standard Elephant Flow, and Unmanaged Elephant Flow.
  • Flow Volume Breakdown: This indicates the amount of traffic in bytes that has passed through the traffic processor server(s), broken down by Managed Elephant Flow, Standard Elephant Flow, and Unmanaged Elephant Flow.
  • Recovered Capacity Graph: This graph displays the amount of throughput capacity recovered by the traffic processor server(s).
  • Average Recovered Capacity per Elephant Flow: This metric shows the average bandwidth recovered per elephant flow and made available to the network for other sessions.
  • Average % Time Managed per Elephant Flow: This indicates the average percentage of time each elephant flow is managed by the traffic processor server(s).
  • Average Elephant Flow Size: This is the average flow size of all elephant flows detected by the traffic processor server(s).
  • Average Elephant Flow Duration: This represents the average duration of all elephant flows detected by the traffic processor server(s).

Usage

When Network Optimization is licensed, a maximum downlink throughput is established. You can monitor the actual L2 downlink throughput relative to this maximum on the usage page. To access the usage page, open Network Optimization and select Usage in the sidebar.

Similar to the traffic metrics page, after selecting search parameters and selecting Submit , the page will refresh, and the statistics will be displayed in the License Usage graph.
