Configuration flows are well suited to configuration tasks that require operator input at execution time. For example, to configure a PAA session between a device and its aggregators.
For configuration tasks that do not require user input, you should consider using configuration jobs. See "About Configuration Jobs".
- Configuration flows promote standardization and reduce the amount of operator intervention required. The approach relies on modularity and re-use. Here are some examples:
- Configuration templates can define the parameters for a single configuration step or for multiple steps.
- Configuration flow templates can be reused in multiple configuration profiles. Configuration flow profiles can include multiple configuration templates.
- Configuration flow profiles can be executed many times by means of configuration flow executors.
- Configuration flow executors can execute a profile on multiple devices at one time.
- All configuration flow components (templates, profiles and executors) can be duplicated and modified or reused as is.
