User Management

With great power comes great responsibility - including administrating user accounts.
User Roles
Before we get too far, here's the definition of each of the user roles.
Admin
Same as user plus:
- Can perform user and user group management
- Can change System Setting as well
User
Same as viewer plus:
- Can create new dashboards
- Can create/edit reports
- Can modify object metadata
Viewer
- Can view public or shared dashboards
- Can view reports
- Can view objects details and execute comparison/analysis
Portal
- Can view public and shared dashboards only
- Cannot view session details or use the Analysis tools
Creating new user accounts
- Use the ➕ symbol from the User tab to initiate the creation of a new user.
- Select the appropriate role.
- Enter their e-mail address (used for login purposes only, we won't send them mail)
- Enter their name for display purposes.
- Submit using the ✔
Once the user is created, you'll be presented with an on-boarding URL. Send this in a message to the user so they can login, set their password and start having fun.
Note: If you get a failed request at this point, double check that the user doesn't already exist (CTRL-F/CMD-F). If you don't find them, use the messenger app in the bottom left corner to send a note to our Customer Success Managers for assistance.
Updating user accounts
You can change role, email address or name - just change it and select the ✔ to save.
Resetting a Password
An administrator can reset a user's password via account management. This will delete their old passworkd and generate a new onboarding link that you can send to the user. This new onboarding link will only be valid for 1 week, so you may need to re-generate it if the user doesn't utilize it within that period.
Follow the below steps to reset a password via GUI.
Navigate to Account Management, and select the user
Utilize the ellipsis/triple dot icon to access the more options menu, and the reset password option
Re-open the more options menu, and select the copy onboarding token option to get the shareable link
Send that link on to the user requesting the password reset with a reminder its only good for a week.
Deleting user accounts
This one is simple, click on the triple dots for more options and select the delete user.
Note: Any dashboards that belonged to that user will show a message that the owner can no longer be found. If that user had a private dashboard that is not shared with any user groups, it will be lost.
