API Deprecation History

Upcoming Deprecations

We continue to improve our Analytics product, including more flexibility in our OpenAPIs. Many of our V1 and V2 APIs already have replacement V3 counterparts, and will gradually be phased out. A list of past deprecations can be found below. Customers should take note that integrations based on V1/V2 will stop working unless they are updated to use the latest V2/V3 version of the APIs.

Replacement of /v2/connector-instances in 21.12:

We're making some changes to how we manage Roadrunners in the upcoming release that will result in the connector-instances API no longer being available. Replacement APIs will be available that provide more flexibility for managing Roadrunner's configuration and running state. These changes will introduce new V3 APIs, including:

• The ability to query RR running state
• The ability to send RR runtime commands around:
  • running state
  • log management
  • data retention
  • data playback

We'll link to the replacement APIs when available.

Replacement of /v2/ingestion-dictionaries for the release subsequent to 22.04:

The V2 API was primarily only useful for querying what dictionaries Accedian had provided and what metrics each data type contained. We've made changes to how we handle ingestion dictionaries starting in 21.06. The V3 suite of ingestion dictionary APIs already exist with extended capabilities like:

• Flat response structure for the ingestion dictionary response
• SQL conversion for the raw value which will provide more options than the previous conversion scheme
• Ingestion dictionary management options for custom dictionary object types/metrics
