Next-gen Analytics arrives! Capture data, alerts, reports, evolved dashboards, macro analysis, faster queries, better UX - it's all here!
Whew, this is a big one! We put massive investments into our architecture over the last year, which we've leveraged into a massive number of features.
With so much ground to cover, we'll start with the largest features and give a brief nod to the rest, which will be detailed in a series of specific feature articles - even our docs are getting an upgrade!
Capture data
That's right, we're introducing a whole new source of data! Capture data from your actual network activity - appropriately aggregated, categorized and ready for either standalone use cases or correlation with Session based data
Alert data
Why stop at one new data source? Alert policies can be configured against Capture and Session data and presented directly alongside your traditional metrics or streamed to external systems
Evolved dashboards...and reports
Harness the power available in your data using advanced dashboards
Spoiler : All dashboards can be exported and scheduled as email-deliverable reports!
New dashboard features include
- Alert/Capture/Session data correlated in a single chart/table
- Categorical (metadata - e.g. region) based groupBy for tables AND charts
- Threshold based heat maps
- Zoom/data synchronization across cards
- Customizable binning including threshold crossings with baseline data
- Linked dashboards with drill-through filtering
- Quick-filter from TopN tables
- Drill-down on specific data with contextual filters and customizable TopN groupBy
- Sections with filtering
- Temporary filters available outside of dashboard authoring
- Metric and categorical-based color schemes
- Improved legends that maximize space and clarity
- Dashboard cloning
- Smaller PDF exports with better organization and high resolution images
- Explicit, full-dashboard authoring
- Improved error handling /reporting
- Granularity control (both increase and decrease) for intervals/zoom intervals
Customizable Analysis with macro-level data
New analysis features include
- New workflows with cross-filtering
- Customizable templates
- Macro level data
- Correlated TopN tables with quick-filtering
- Categorical distribution analysis with correlated metric ranges
Additional features
We've got a lot more to get into, but as a brief overview we've also added
- Repeat offenders
- Categorical (metadata) key/value aliasing
- Capture metric-based filtering
- Client-side request caching
- SNMP MIB polling support
- Significant performance improvements and scale
- Support for storing metadata inline with time series data allowing us to track metadata history as well more complex groupBy queries
- Support for Monitored Object Session ID changes (moving sessions from one VCX to another will retain a cohesive history in Analytics)
- A great deal of internal monitoring added for increased visibility of performance, stability and connectivity between hosts and RoadRunner
- Send health stats and operational metrics from RoadRunner hosts to Analytics for better visibility on RoadRunner performance
- Support for on-prem sensor data ingestion and processing,
- Remote configuration of on-prem sensor from Analytics admin interface
- Support for PVQL queries on Analytics
