Setting Up a VID Sets Configuration Job

You can use a configuration job to define VID sets for each traffic stream on a device to classify the incoming traffic before sending it to the service creation function. A VID set consists of one or more VLANs grouped as a logical entity.

To set up a VID sets job

  1. Access the page Commission ▶ Jobs.

  2. Set all common configuration job settings, as described in "Creating Configuration Jobs in GUI Mode" and in "Creating Configuration Jobs Using Data Sets".

  3. Select VID Sets in the left pane. The VID sets tab is displayed.

  4. Complete all fields of the VID sets tab as required. For more information on specific parameters, see the table below.

  5. Use the Add PLUS BUTTON.png button or Duplicate DUPLICATE BUTTON.png button to add VID sets as required.

  6. Click Apply, then click Close.

  7. Click the Refresh REFRESH BUTTON.png button to refresh the user interface.

VID Sets

ParameterDescription
NameThe name assigned to the VID set.
Policy listAssigned when the VID set is created, the policy list indicates the traffic policy to which the VID set applies. The value here is the policy list on which the VID set will be active.
VLAN typeThe VLAN Ethertype of the VID set:
  • c-vlan
  • s-vlan
  • t-vlan
  • none
VIDsSpecify a list of VIDs in the following format: [- ], [- ] ... (e.g. 1, 2, 100–200 will include VIDs 1, 2, 100, 101, 102, 103... 200). Note: With a catch-all filter, you must assign VID 0–4095. For untagged frames, assign VID 0.
Outer VLAN typeThe VLAN Ethertype for the outer VLAN (when dual VLAN is used).

Possible values:

  • c-vlan
  • s-vlan
  • t-vlan
  • none
Outer VLAN IDSpecify a VID for the outer VLAN.
