Setting Up a Users Configuration Job

Article summary

The Users configuration job allows you to configure user accounts on devices. In order to create users, one or more user permission group must already exist on the device. You can also create permission group using a configuration job. See "Setting Up a Permission Group Configuration Job".


Note: You must define the permissions to assign to user groups before defining the user accounts.

To set up a Users job

  1. Access the page Commission ▶ Jobs.

  2. Set all common configuration job settings, as described in "Creating Configuration Jobs in GUI Mode" and in "Creating Configuration Jobs Using Data Sets".

  3. Select Users in the left pane. The Users tab is displayed.

  4. Complete all fields of the Users tab as required. For more information on specific parameters, see the table below.

  5. Use the Add PLUS BUTTON.png button or Duplicate DUPLICATE BUTTON.png button to add Users settings as required.


Note: When duplicating a row, always select the row to duplicate before clicking the Duplicate DUPLICATE BUTTON.png button.

  1. Click Apply, then click Close.

  2. Click the Refresh REFRESH BUTTON.png button to refresh the user interface.

Users tab (Commission ▶ Jobs)
User general

ParameterDescription
UsernameThe login name for the account.
EmailThe account holder's email address.
First nameThe account holder's first name.
Last nameThe account holder's last name.
Phone numberThe account holder's phone number.
PasswordThe password for this account.

Permission Group 1-4 and Permission Group 5-8

ParameterDescription
Group 1-8Select one or more (up to eight) permission groups for the user. Leave the other groups blank.
