  • PDF

Article summary

A Provider Connectivity Assurance Sensor Control can be connected to a number of Provider Connectivity Assurance Sensor Modules and Provider Connectivity Assurance Sensor SFP modules that act as remote ports for the sensor: control. These Assurance Sensor Module and Assurance Sensor SFP modules are referred to as Assurance Sensor Modules of the sensor: control.

You can use a configuration job to configure Assurance Sensor Modules connected to an Assurance Sensor Control.

To set up a Module & SFP Configuration job

  1. Access the page Commission ▶ Jobs.

  2. Set all common configuration job settings, as described in Creating Configuration Jobs in GUI Mode on page 152 and in Creating Configuration Jobs Using Data Sets on page 155.

  3. Select Module & SFP configuration in the left pane. The Module & SFP configuration tab is displayed.

General

ParametersDescription
Admin stateUse this checkbox to set the administrative state of the Assurance Sensor Module.

Available options:

  • True = In Service
  • False = Out of Service
AuthorizeUse this checkbox to allow the Assurance Sensor Control to connect to the Assurance Sensor Module.
Extra reconnection delaySelect this box to make the Assurance Sensor Control wait longer when reconnecting to this Assurance Sensor Module before declaring it unreachable.
Update general parametersPossible values: True or False.
Flex monitorSelect this box to enable the FlexMonitor on the Assurance Sensor Module. When FlexMonitor is enabled, the device is used in out-of-line mode and will be able to activate advanced features on both ports.
Feature suiteFirmware suite version currently installed on the device.
Switch to IS delayAmount of time (in seconds) to wait (after SAT testing is completed) before timing out and setting the admin state of the Assurance Sensor Module to Out of Service.
Tunnel TCP portThe TCP port to use for the tunnel between the Assurance Sensor Control and the linked Assurance Sensor Module. The TCP tunnel is used to support advanced features on second generation Assurance Sensor Modules.
Tunnel DSCPThe DSCP value to use for the tunnel between the Assurance Sensor Control and the linked Assurance Sensor Module. The DSCP tunnel is used to support advanced features on second generation Assurance Sensor Modules.
In service featureThe in service feature associated with each Assurance Sensor Module. Available options are: TGEN Traffic generation (used to perform SAT tests) PMON: metrics collection (used by all other features, including service OAM, traffic management and loopbacks).
Update Module NameChange name of the module.

CFM Version

ParametersDescription
Update SOAM LibraryPossible values: True or False.
Force Delete Dmm-ReflectorsPossible values: True or False.
Library VersionThis parameter is only relevant for jobs that will be executed on Assurance Sensor Control or on second generation Assurance Sensor Modules connected to a Assurance Sensor Control. It will be ignored for jobs executed on Provider Connectivity Assurance Sensors or Assurance Sensor Control if it has two libraries that implement CFM.

Possible values are:

  • v1 - Select this value if the job will be executed on Assurance Sensor Control. The v1 library was included in sensor: control releases before Assurance Sensor Control 2.
  • v2 - Select this value if the job will be executed on second generation Assurance Sensor Modules. The v2 library is included in Assurance Sensor Control 2.4 and higher.

flowmeter Rate

ParametersDescription
Configure Sampling PeriodYou can configure the sampling period.

Possible values are:

1ms, 10 ms, 100 ms or 1,000 ms.

Sampling PeriodThe frequency at which throughput is calculated, then compared with the Maximum and Minimum throughput values recorded at this point of the current period. Expressed in milliseconds. The Sampling Period is specific to each device.
