Setting Up a DNS Configuration Job

  • PDF

Article summary

You can use DHCP to automatically configure the IP parameters of a device. When a device uses DHCP, it can be configured to obtain its DNS settings via DHCP. If the device does not use DHCP, you can manually specify the address for each DNS server.

Note: Two DNS servers can be used for redundancy.

To set up a DNS job

  1. Access the page Commission ▶ Jobs.

  2. Set all common configuration job settings, as described in Creating a Generic Configuration Job with the GUI Mode and in Creating a Generic Configuration Job with a Dataset.

  3. Select DNS in the left pane. The DNS tab is displayed.
