Sensor Capture 25.07 Release Notes

Prev Next

Overview

Cisco is pleased to announce release 25.07 of Provider Connectivity Assurance Sensor Capture.

Important note for upgrades

Capture sensors and orchestration supports n-1 backwards compatibility, this means that once PCA (formerly Skylight Analytics) with capture orchestration has been upgraded to 25.07, only capture sensors with versions 24.09 and 25.07 will be supported. Capture sensors at 24.05 release will still be able to register but should be upgraded at the earliest convenience.

Headline Features

  1. Security patches

    • The capture sensor has been updated with the latest security improvement packages according to Cisco standards for on-prem deployed software.
  2. IPv6 support for auto-detected application library

    • The library of SaaS applications detected using the built-in library have been enabled for IPv6.
  3. Capture sensor connectivity parameters changed to read-only in GUI

    • To prevent losing connectivity to the capture sensor, parameters that relate to how the capture sensor connects to the PCA SaaS have been made read-only in the graphical user interface of PCA. To change these parameters, use the CLI (Pulsar)

Versions and Upgrading

This release has version number 25.07.8 for the capture sensor.

Note

Capture sensors and orchestration supports n-1 backwards compatibility, this means that once PCA (formerly Analytics) with capture orchestration has been upgraded to 25.07, only capture sensors with versions 24.09 and 25.07 will be supported. Manual upgrading from previous sensor capture releases via the local capture sensor CLI is supported back to release 21.12.
Upgrades from versions older than 21.12 should go through 21.12 before being upgraded to 23.11, and then to 25.07.

Notable Feature Deprecations and Cautions

The following features will no longer be available once your system is upgraded to PCA 25.07.

  • Changing of capture sensor connectivity parameters (network settings, proxy settings and DNS settings) are no longer changeable from the graphical user interface, use CLI (Pulsar) to change these.
