LLDP system control status must be Start prior to making further LLDP configurations.
For Multiple Instance configuration, the port must be created and mapped to a switch before doing any LLDP configurations on that port.
For a particular VLAN, the VLAN name is configured before enabling its VLAN name for transmission.
At least one IP interface must be created and made operationally UP before enabling management address TLV (Type, Length, Value) for transmission and before configuring the chassis ID (Identifier) subtype as nw-addr.
For Management address TLV, VLAN name TLV, and Port and Protocol VLAN ID TLVs, an option is provided in corresponding CLI commands to enable transmission of all configured Management addresses, VLAN names and Protocol groups.
New Management address, VLAN name, or Protocol group configured after enabling the transmission of the corresponding TLVs is not transmitted automatically. The newly configured Management address, VLAN name, or Protocol group must be enabled for transmission using the CLI command that is provided for enabling a particular Management address, VLAN name, or Protocol group.
Example: Management address TLV
VLAN1: 15.0.0.1
VLAN2: 16.0.0.1
If management address TLV is enabled to transmit all the configured management addresses, 15.0.0.1 and 16.0.0.1 are transmitted.
If VLAN3 with IP address 17.0.0.1 is configured after enabling all management address TLV, this newly configured management address is not transmitted until the TLV is enabled explicitly.
