Direction Alias Overview
All metrics collected by Cisco Provider Connectivity Assurance (formerly Skylight performance analytics) have a directional attribute associated to them. These directional attributes have the following default labels.
Ingested Direction Attribute Value | Default Directional Label | Description |
---|---|---|
-1 | NON | Metrics have no directionality |
0 | SD | Source to Destination - metrics with this directionality represents the packet stats seen as they arrive at the destination (previously P2R) |
1 | DS | Destination to Source - metrics with this directionality represents the packet stats seen starting from the destination back to the source (previously R2P) |
2 | RT | Round Trip - metrics with this directionality represent the packet stats seen between the source back to itself |
Administrators can set up new global direction aliases that will appear instead of the default direction names. For example, instead of showing SD as the direction for the datatype ETH-DM, you can show Far End in an analysis, dashboard, and inventory.
Different aliases can be created for the same direction (SD, DS, RT, and NON) per object type.
