This article explains how to change the password of the skylight account in Legacy Orchestrator. This procedure is highly recommended.
It is important to not lose the password after it has been changed from the factory default.
Procedure Requirements
A. This procedure must be executed from the Legacy Orchestrator console. Connect to the console via a remote SSH client (appliance IP address, port 2200).
B. This procedure must be executed as the skylight user. To execute this procedure, you must know the account’s credentials.
Procedure Steps
Open an SSH terminal session to the Legacy Orchestrator CLI on port 2200.
Log in as the skylight user.
At the prompt, access the OS-level shell of the appliance by entering:
shell host
When prompted, enter the user ID and password for the skylight user.
- To change the password, enter:
passwd skylight
When prompted for the current skylight password, enter the default password of the skylight account.
When prompted for a new password, enter the new password that you want to set for the skylight account.
When prompted to enter the new password again, enter the new password again.
The password is changed.Exit the OS-level shell by entering:
exit
You are returned to the command line. The prompt is displayed.
