Trace Run List

The Trace Run List displays runs that you can compare and examine the differences in, for example, hops and speed. A red diamond marker indicates that the run involves a route change.

You can configure which runs appear in the list by doing these steps:

  • Toggle Show route changes only to show only route changes.
  • Enter a keyword such as the RTT or Hops value in the Search box to filter runs.

From this list, you can determine which runs to compare by marking tests as A or B.

Trace Run Timeline

The Trace Run Timeline displays an overview of runs and their performance.

Each vertical bar represents a run and its average response time (RTT Avg). A red diamond marker indicates that the run involves a route change, which means that the list of IPs in that run changed from the previous run.

The horizontal dash line represents the number of hops that occurred per run.

Run Selectors

The Run Selectors display the runs that are currently selected for comparison. Each run is labeled A or B. You can change the selection by choosing a different run from the dropdowns.

Trace Comparison Table

Use the Trace Comparison table to compare runs. For any two runs selected, routes and details appear in this table. Selection A appears on the left, while selection B appears on the right, with a chart showing their overlap and differences in the middle.

Any hops that are common between the two routes appear as a pair of matching boxes. Elements that appeared only in the older run are semi-transparent, while new elements only in the later run are shown in a branch.
