Viewing Port Statistics

Article summary

You can view detailed statistics for each port. The port’s statistics are sampled once per second. To view a summary of statistics, access the page Port ▶ Statistics.

To view detailed port statistics

  1. Access the page Port ▶ Statistics.
    The Port Statistics page appears. Transmit and Receive statistics for all ports are displayed.

  2. (Optional) To limit the view to only certain ports, enter a value on which to filter, then click Search.


    Note: Enter an asterisk ( * ) as a wildcard to replace one or several characters.

Tip: To clear the statistics for all ports, click the X icon on the right side of the table header. To clear the statistics for a specific port, click its associated icon in the table.

Summary Page

ParameterDescription
Port nameThe port for which statistics are displayed.
Txm packetsThe total number of frames/packets (both good and bad) transmitted by the port. Bad frames include normal collisions, late collisions and FIFO underflows.
Txm bytesThe total number of bytes transmitted by the port.
Txm errorsNumber of transmission errors.
Rcv packetsThe total number of frames/packets (both good and bad) received by the port. Bad frames include short frames (less than 64 bytes), long frames (greater than the port's configured MTU), frames with bad CRC, frames with PHY errors and frames with receive FIFO errors.
Rcv bytesThe total number of bytes received by the port.
Rcv errorsNumber of errors received.
ClearClick this icon to clear the statistics.
