New firmware versions typically provide new and/or enhanced features. It is recommended to only perform firmware updates in accordance with instructions per Technical Support.

To verify the current firmware version running on the Skylight module dock device, refer to the Current Version field in the Firmware Maintenance section of the AMD System ▶ Firmware page.

You can upgrade the firmware used by the Skylight module dock by downloading the firmware file directly from your computer.

▶ To upgrade the Skylight module dock device's firmware

Access the page AMD System ▶ Firmware.
Click the Browse button located next to the New Firmware field.
In the dialog box that appears, select the firmware file on your computer, then click OK.

Note: The firmware is distributed in a binary file with the filename extension .afl.

Click the Upgrade button.

Once the firmware has been loaded, the device will restart in order to activate the new firmware.

▶ To revert to the previous software version

CAUTION: Reverting to an older firmware version is advisable ONLY through the Rollback feature. With Rollback, compatible configuration settings are loaded with the previous firmware.

A simple firmware downgrade is NOT advisable because the older firmware may not match the existing (newer) configuration.

Attempting a firmware downgrade using the Upgrade button may corrupt the device's configuration.

Access the page AMD System ▶ Firmware.
Ensure that the version number displayed in Rollback Version is the correct version to which to revert.
Click Rollback.

Firmware Parameters (AMD System ▶ Firmware)

Parameter	Description
Current Version	The current version of the firmware.
New Firmware	The firmware version that is applied when you click Upgrade.
Rollback Version	The previous firmware version to which you can revert.
Rollback Button	Click to revert the unit's firmware to the version indicated in Rollback Version.
