Setting Up a Bandwidth Regulator Set Configuration Job

A bandwidth regulator set is used to regulate traffic bandwidth based on the value of the following information for the incoming frames:

  • PCP: p-bits in 802.1Q / 802.1Q-in-Q tags.
  • IP Precedence: IP precedence bits in the IPv4 ToS byte or in the IPv6 Traffic Class byte.
  • DSCP: DSCP bits in the IPv4 ToS byte or in the IPv6 Traffic Class byte.

To set up a Bandwidth regulator sets configuration job

  1. Access the page Commission ▶ Jobs.

  2. Set all common configuration job settings, as described in "Creating Configuration Jobs in GUI Mode" and "Creating Configuration Jobs Using Data Sets".

  3. Select Bandwidth regulator sets in the left pane.
    The Bandwidth regulator sets tab is displayed.

  4. Complete all fields in the Bandwidth regulator sets tab as required. For more information on specific parameters, see the table below.

  5. Click the Add Button_New_Generic.png button or Duplicate Button_Duplicate.png button to add bandwidth regulator sets as required.


    Note: When duplicating a row, always select the row to duplicate before clicking the Duplicate  Button_Duplicate.png button.

  6. Click Apply, then click Close.

  7. Click the Refresh Button_Refresh_Generic.png button to refresh the user interface.

ParameterDescription
NameName of the bandwidth regulator set.
TypeSpecifies the type of priority upon which the bandwidth regulator set is based. The type you choose may be one of the following:
  • PCP: Priority Code Point mapping.
  • IP PRE: IP precedence mapping.
  • DSCP: Differentiated Services Code Point mapping.

Regulator parameters (tabs: PCP 0-3, PCP 4-7, IP Precedence 0-3, IP Precedence 4-7, DSCP 0-3, and so on)

ParameterDescription
Reg. name nThe bandwidth regulator to use when regulating the traffic flow with this PCP, IP precedence or DSCP value.
Enable nEnable or disable traffic regulation for this PCP, IP precedence or DSCP value.
