You can set up a bandwidth regulator to regulate traffic. After a bandwidth regulator has been created, it can be applied to traffic policies.
To set up a Bandwidth regulators configuration job
Access the page Commission ▶ Jobs.
Set all common configuration job settings, as explained in "Creating Configuration Jobs in GUI Mode" and in "Creating Configuration Jobs Using Data Sets".
Select Bandwidth regulators from the list on the left side of the screen.
The Bandwidth regulators tab is displayed.
Use either the Add
button or Duplicate 
button to add bandwidth regulators as required.

button.Click Apply, then click Close.
Click the Refresh
button to refresh the user interface.

General
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | A name identifying the bandwidth regulator. |
| Committed Information Rate (CIR) | The average rate, expressed in kbps, up to which the network delivers frames and meets the performance objectives defined by the CoS Service Attributes. Traffic that is declared green and complies with CIR or CBS is allowed to pass through the policer without rate limitation. Green traffic in excess of this maximum is declared yellow by the regulator and is subject to EIR regulation. |
| Committed Burst Size (CBS) | The maximum number of kibibytes available for a burst of frames that are sent at the port's speed and remain CIR-conformant. Note: The burst size must be greater than the port's Maximum Transfer Unit (MTU). Minimum: Calculated based on the CIR-MAX value, where 1 KiB of CBS is required for each 1 Gbps of CIR-MAX. For example, if the CIR-MAX is set to 4 Gbps, the minimum CBS value is 4 KiB. Maximum: 8000 KiB (steps of 1 KiB) (1024 bytes). |
| Excess Information Rate (EIR) | The maximum average rate, expressed in kbps, of frames up to which the network may deliver service frames but without any performance objectives. Yellow traffic in excess of this maximum is declared red by the regulator then dropped. |
| (EBS) | The maximum number of kibibytes available for a burst of frames sent at the port's speed that remain EIR-conformant. Note: Burst size must be greater than the port's MTU.
