About Session Schedules
Set a schedule to run single or repeating tests for sessions that have a Path trace, Transfer, or Throughput session type. You can set and manage schedules by using the Schedule drop-down list in the session configuration settings.
Note: To use session schedules, the session Period setting must be set to Once.
Access Session Configuration Settings
Access session configuration settings from either the Inventory or Sensors module.
From the Inventory Module
To access session configuration settings from the Inventory module:
- Go to Inventory ► Sessions, then click +.
The New session dialog displays. - Choose the Agent and Session type.
- Click Next: session configuration.
From the Sensors Module
To access session configuration settings from the Sensors module:
- Go to Sensors ► Agent, then click the row of the sensor.
- In the Summary tab, Sessions section, click +.
The New session dialog displays. - Click Next: session configuration.
Set Session Schedules
To set a session schedule:
- Access the session configuration settings from either the Inventory or Session module.
- In General settings, Schedule drop-down list, choose the applicable option.
The default selection is None (manual tests). You can choose from a list of user-made schedules or create a new schedule.- Run once schedules: Displays a list of schedules that will run once at a configured time
- Repeat schedules: Displays a list of schedules that will run continuously at a configured interval
- Click ✓ to save your changes.
Create Session Schedules
To create a session schedule:
Access the session configuration settings from either the Inventory or Session module.
In General settings, Schedule drop-down list, choose New schedule.
The New session schedule dialog displays.
Configure the parameters. For information, see Session Schedule Parameters.
Click ✓ to save your changes.
Manage Session Schedules
To manage a session schedule:
Access the session configuration settings from either the Inventory or Session module.
In General settings, Schedule drop-down list, choose Manage schedules.
The Sessions schedules dialog displays.
Click the row of the schedule you want to manage.
The Edit session schedule dialog displays.Configure the parameters. For information, see Session Schedule Parameters.
Click ✓ to save your changes.
Delete Session Schedules
CAUTION: If you delete a schedule, any session using it will no longer run on the schedule.
To delete a session schedule:
Access the session configuration settings from either the Inventory or Session module.
In General settings, Schedule drop-down list, choose Manage schedules.
The Sessions schedules dialog displays.
Click the row of the schedule you want to manage.
The Edit session schedule dialog displays.Click .
The Delete session schedule dialog displays.
To confirm, click Delete schedule or Remove from x session and delete schedule.
Session Schedule Parameters
This section describes the parameters of the New session schedule and Edit Session schedule dialogs.
Schedule name: Enter the schedule name
Schedule settings
Run Once: Choose this option to run a single test at a configured date, time, and time zone.
Repeat: Choose this option to run repeating tests at a configured interval
- Custom: Set a custom interval. For example, every 6 minutes
- Every minute: Choose this option to run the test every minute
- Every hour: Choose this option to run the test every hour
- Weekly on: Set the days, start time and time zone on which the test will run
- Custom: Set a custom interval. For example, every 6 minutes
Sessions using this schedule: Only available in the Edit session schedule dialog. Displays the sessions that are using this schedule
