Operating System Configuration

Supported Operating Systems

The server must be configured with one of the following supported operating systems:

  • Rocky Linux 8.10 using the minimal installation package.
  • RedHat Enterprise Linux 8.10 using the minimal minimal installation package.

Install and Configure the Operating System

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for installing the Operating System. Configure the following settings during installation.

  1. Enable the Management NIC and assign an IP address, subnet and gateway for SSH access.
  2. Assign a Hostname
  3. Set the Time Zone and NTP server addresses
  4. Set root password
  5. Create ‘opanga’ user as admin
  6. Boot drive must be partitioned as shown in the table below.

Warning: DO NOT upgrade any packages on the server after installing the Operating System. All necessary updates will be applied during the software installation of the Management Server and Traffic Processors.
