Overview
The Sensors UI is a management tool for configuring both Sensor Agents and their sessions.
View the Sensor Agents list by going to Sensors â–º Agent.
From here, you can observe your inventory and the status of Sensor Agents. You can also:
- Search and filter the list using the top bar above the table
- Sort the list by selecting a header
- Refresh the list by selecting the re-fetch icon in the top-right corner

Terminology
| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Sensor Agent | Containerized microservice test agent capable of performing active testing. |
| Session | Also known as monitored object. Building block and lowest level of the data model. Sensors and third parties report session data at this raw level. |
Prerequisites
To view, create, edit, and delete Sensor Agent and session configurations, you must have the Admin permission level.
View Sensor Agents
To view Sensor Agents:
- Click Sensors on the left sidebar.
- Click the Agent tab.
The list of Sensor Agents appear. - Select a Sensor Agent .
The right sidebar appears, displaying the details and allowing you to view and edit its configuration.

The Summary sidebar view displays a list of attached sessions.
The context menu allows you to generate a secret for authentication and delete the Sensor Agent .

View Sessions
To view sessions:
- Select a Sensor Agent from the list.
This opens the Summary view in the sidebar with the list of sessions.

Hover on a session in the list for actions that can be performed, such as:
- Edit configuration
- Delete Session
- View Monitored Object details
- Run a Start or Stop command against the Session

Configuring Sensor Agents
To create a new configuration:
- Click + on the top right.
This opens the sidebar in the creation state.

- Enter the details.
- Data collector server: a Sensor Collector’s gateway address that the Sensor Agent will use for streaming measurement metrics results.
- Expand, enable, and fill out the reflector information for the Sensor Agent if required.
- Click ✓ to save the changes.
Once submitted, the Sensor Agents list will update with the newly-created configuration.
To edit an existing configuration:
- Select the Sensor Agent from the table list.
- Select the Configuration tab.

- Make the necessary changes.
- Click ✓ to save the changes.
Configure Sessions
To create a new session:

Click + from the Sensor Agent's Summary tab.

In the New session modal, select the Session type:
- TWAMP-SL (stateless)
- TWAMP-SF (stateful)
- Throughput
- Echo ICMP
- Echo UDP
- Transfer
- Path trace

Click Session configuration.

Configure the parameters.
Note: The parameters vary depending on the selected session type. -
Click ✓ to save the changes.
To edit a session:
- Hover to select the session from the list in the Sensor Agent's sidebar.
- Click the
icon.

- Make the required changes.
- Click ✓ to save the changes.
