Managing Disk Storage

  • PDF

Article summary

Each instance of the Cisco Provider Connectivity Assurance Sensor Control provides access to two storage disks that are used to hold various types of data:

  • config: A low-access rate disk containing configuration data, as well as the active and rollback firmware suites for all remote devices. The data on this disk has a long lifespan.

  • store: A high-performance disk containing temporary files, performance-monitoring data, historical data, and statistics. The data on this disk has a short-to-medium lifespan.

Note: Config partition cannot be resized in a single disk.

This topic provides instructions on how to safely manage the size allocated by the system to these storage disks.

Editing Storage Disk Parameters

To edit storage disk parameters

  1. Access the page System ▶ Maintenance ▶ Storage.
The Storage page appears. A listing of all storage disks available to this instance of the Sensor Control displays, along with the disk size and usage details of each.

  2. Click the name of a disk to edit its settings.
    The Storage Edit page appears.

  3. Enter the new disk size in the New Disk Size field.

Note: The size you specify will persist across system reboots and factory resets.

  4. Click Apply to save your changes.

Note: A system reboot is required for these pending changes to take effect.

For information on specific parameters, refer to the following table.

Storage Management Parameters (System ▶ Maintenance ▶ Storage)

ParameterDescription
Disk NameThe name assigned to this disk. You cannot change this value
MaximumThe maximum disk size, expressed in MB, that can be allocated for this disk
AllocatedThe current size for this disk, expressed in MB.

This value is less than or equal to the Maximum parameter.

FreeYou can grow the size of this disk by the value indicated here, expressed in MB.
StatusStatus details appear here, such as any pending changes made to the disk.
New Disk SizeEnter the new size for the disk here, in multiples of 100 MB.

Notes: The actual size obtained may vary slightly from the requested size. Once a larger disk size has been applied, its size cannot be reduced. However, as long as the resize operation is still pending, you can adjust the size value up or down as needed.

Editing Storage Partition Parameters
