Managing Device Firmware

  • PDF

Article summary

The firmware on Skylight devices is normally upgraded by means of configuration jobs or flows. When you set up a configuration job for a firmware upgrade, you can browse for a firmware file to install or you can access a firmware file that was previously stored (staged) on Skylight orchestrator.

The Devices ▶ Firmware page allows you to determine the version of firmware on all devices managed by Skylight orchestrator. You can also store and delete firmware files on the Skylight orchestrator server.

In particular, you can do the following tasks in the Devices ▶ Firmware page:

  • View the list of Skylight devices, and determine the firmware version that is currently installed on each of them.
  • Store firmware files for Skylight devices on the Skylight orchestrator appliance where they are readily available for upgrading devices remotely. It is possible to store the following:
    • Firmware for most Skylight models
    • Firmware for Skylight sensor: control
    • Skylight sensor: control firmware suites (firmware for Skylight modules)
  • Determine previous versions of firmware that are available for rolling back the firmware on each device.
  • Delete firmware files from Skylight orchestrator appliance.

To view firmware installed on managed devices and stored on Skylight orchestrator

  1. Access the Devices ▶ Firmware page.
