Managing Device Firmware

  • PDF

Article summary

The firmware on Provider Connectivity Assurance devices is normally upgraded by means of configuration jobs or flows. When you set up a configuration job for a firmware upgrade, you can browse for a firmware file to install or you can access a firmware file that was previously stored (staged) on Legacy orchestrator.

The Devices ▶ Firmware page allows you to determine the version of firmware on all devices managed by Legacy orchestrator. You can also store and delete firmware files on the Legacy orchestrator server.

In particular, you can do the following tasks in the Devices ▶ Firmware page:

  • View the list of Provider Connectivity Assurance devices, and determine the firmware version that is currently installed on each of them.
  • Store firmware files for Provider Connectivity Assurance devices on the Legacy orchestrator appliance where they are readily available for upgrading devices remotely. It is possible to store the following:
    • Firmware for most Provider Connectivity Assurance Sensor models
    • Firmware for Provider Connectivity Assurance Sensor Control
    • Connectivity Assurance Sensor Control firmware suites (firmware for Connectivity Assurance Sensor Modules)
  • Determine previous versions of firmware that are available for rolling back the firmware on each device.
  • Delete firmware files from Legacy orchestrator appliance.
