Enabling or Disabling Console CLI through Serial Port
This article explains how to configure the console port; more precisely, to enable or disable console CLI through the serial port as well as display the current information stored in non-volatile random-access memory (NVRAM).
Note: To log in, enter your username (default is root) and password (default is admin123).
To enable or disable console CLI through serial port
- Execute the following command to enable console CLI through the serial port.
Your Product# cli console
- View the console CLI status using the following show command.
Your Product# show nvram
About Commands
cli console
Command Objective
This command enables the console CLI through a serial port.
The no form of the command disables console CLI.
Syntax
cli console
no cli console

Note: This command takes effect only on system restart.
show nvram
Command Objective
This command displays the current information stored in the NVRAM.
