Upgrading Skylight Flex

Overview

The following procedure is recommended to upgrade a Skylight Flex unit using the AFL file and Skylight Flex CLI. The Skylight Flex platform has enough space on the storage to save two copies of the entire software.

Using AFL File for Client

Downloading Accedian AFL Firmware

To download Accedian firmware using TFTP

1. From the file server accessible to clients, download the file:

AMO-100G-NG_23.09.1_2393.afl

2. Copy the file to the TFTP server; example: 10.247.0.70

scp AMO-100G-NG_23.09.1_2393.afl <user>@10.247.0.70:/home/<user>/TFTP_File_Server/tftpboot

OR

To download Accedian firmware using SFTP

1. From the file server accessible to clients, download the file:

AMO-100G-NG_23.09.1_2393.afl

2. Copy the file to the SFTP server, example: 192.168.1.109

scp AMO-100G-NG_23.09.1_2393.afl <user>:<Pass>@192.168.1.109:/home/<user>/SFTP_File_Server/sftpboot

Installing Accedian AFL Firmware on Skylight Flex

This install procedure requires a 2-step process, retrieving the file (a), followed by activation (b). These steps can be accomplished independently.

To install firmware version 2393 using TFTP

1. Do the following from the Skylight Flex unit:
   a) Retrieve the official AMO-100G-NG_23.09.1_2393.afl file from the TFTP server by typing following commands in the CLI:

ssh root@x.x.x.x <--- IP address of your Skylight Flex unit.

archive download-sw /overwrite tftp://10.247.0.4/AMO-100G-NG_23.09.1_2393.afl

b) Activate the firmware:

configure terminal
firmware activate; exit; exit

2. Wait approximately two minutes as the unit will reboot.

OR

To install firmware version 2393 using SFTP

1. Do the following from the Skylight Flex unit:
   a) Retrieve the official AMO-100G-NG_23.09.1_2393.afl file from the SFTP server by typing following commands in the CLI:

ssh root@x.x.x.x <--- IP address of your Skylight Flex unit.

archive download-sw /overwrite sftp://sftp_user:sftp_user@192.168.1.109/AMO-100G-NG_23.09.1_2393.afl

b) Activate the firmware:

configure terminal
firmware activate; exit; exit

2. Wait approximately two minutes as the unit will reboot.

Verifying the Active Firmware Version

Validate the active firmware version after the Skylight Flex device is rebooted.

To verify the active firmware version

1. Type the following in the Skylight Flex CLI:
