The PMON (Performance Monitoring) feature collects the statistics from each standard monitoring entity like physical interfaces and Ethernet Maintenance End Point.
This article describes the purpose and scope of PMON, lists the definitions /acronyms and conventions used, and the general CLI and SNMP configurations.
It also describes the configuration details through CLI (Command Line Interface) and SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol)
The reader is expected to have a basic knowledge of the Performance Monitoring functionality used in the network as a prerequisite.
