The following are Maintenance Intermediate Point Half Function (MHF) features:

Validates the received PDUs;
Validates the received CCM PDUs, and builds the MIP CCM Database;
Responds to LBM PDUs with LBR PDUs;
Responds to LTM PDUs by forwarding them and responding with LTR PDUs.
