Configuring the LLDP port-ID-subtype

This section explains how to configure the Port ID subtype. The Port ID subtype can be configured to any of the following values:

• Interface alias
• Port component
• MAC address
• Network address
• Interface name
• Agent Circuit Id
• Local

1. Configure the LLDP port ID subtype by executing the following commands.

• Enter the Global Configuration mode.

your product# configure terminal

• Configure the LLDP port-ID subtype and enable LLDP

your product(config)# interface gigabitethernet 0/1
your product(config-if)# lldp port-id-subtype mac-addr
your product(config-if)# exit
your product(config)# set lldp enable

• Exit from the Global Configuration mode.

your product(config)# end

• View the local system information of interface 0/1 by executing the following command.

your product# show lldp local gigabitethernet 0/1
