Configuring the System Clock

  • PDF

Article summary

Configuring the clock sets the system clock time, also known as the unit system time.

To configure the system clock

  1. Execute the following commands to adjust the system clock. Example:
your product# clock set 16:00:00 2 jan 2023
  1. View the configured clock by executing the following show command.
your product# show clock
Mon Jan 02 16:00:01 2023

Notes:

When initially configuring and activating NTP, you must also perform a reload to resynchronize the NTP configuration with the FPGA.

The system clock is currently extracted from the unit's Operating System. In future releases, the system clock will be sourced from the Hardware Time of Day (ToD) counter that is present in the packet-switching device.
