This article explains what Skylight modules are and what can be done in the Managed Modules & SFPs and Unmanaged Modules & SFPs pages.
Currently, the only devices that appear in the Managed Modules & SFPs list are Skylight sensor: module and Skylight sensor: SFP compute modules that are in the inventory of a Skylight sensor: control. These modules act as remote ports for Skylight sensor: control.
From the Managed Modules & SFPs page, you can:
- View the list of all Skylight sensor: modules that have been loaded in Skylight orchestrator.
- View details of a Skylight sensor: module.
- Add, resync, or unmanage Skylight sensor: modules.
- Upgrade the firmware of a Skylight sensor: module.
- Change the Admin State of a Skylight sensor: module (put it in service or out of service).
- View the Skylight sensor: modules' dashboard.
Managed Modules & SFPs page (Devices ▶ Managed Modules & SFPs)
From the Unmanaged Modules & SFPs page, you can:
- View the list of all Skylight sensor: modules that have been loaded in Skylight orchestrator with DISCONNECTED state or added by Inventory polling.
- Manage Skylight sensor: modules that are currently Unmanaged.
- Delete Skylight sensor: modules.

Viewing the Managed Modules & SFPs List and Dashboard
Skylight orchestrator allows you to view the Skylight sensor: module and Skylight sensor: SFP compute modules that are in the inventory of a Skylight sensor: control.
Before it is possible to view the Skylight sensor: modules, they must be loaded into Skylight orchestrator. See "Loading the Inventory of Performance Elements".
To view the list of Managed Modules & SFPs
To access the list and dashboard of Skylight sensor: modules, select Devices ▶ Managed Modules & SFPs.
To interpret the information displayed for the various devices in each of the columns, see the table after this procedure. Some of the columns described in the table may not appear in the Managed Modules & SFPs list on-screen.
To display or remove columns from the Managed Modules & SFPs list:
- Right-click anywhere in the headings at the top of the columns. A context menu is displayed.
- Slide the cursor down the menu to Columns to view the full list of columns that can be displayed.
- Check any columns you want to view. Uncheck any columns that you do not want to view.

Changing the Admin State of Managed Modules & SFPs
Skylight orchestrator allows you to change the operational state of Skylight sensor: module and Skylight sensor: SFP compute modules that are in the inventory of a Skylight sensor: control.
Before it is possible to change the state of a Skylight sensor: module, the Skylight sensor: modules must be loaded into Skylight orchestrator. See "Loading the Inventory of Performance Elements".
To change the admin state of one or more Skylight sensor: modules
You can change the state of Skylight sensor: modules one at a time or you can change the state of multiple devices at once.
Access the list of Skylight sensor: modules by selecting Devices ▶ Managed Modules & SFPs.
Select the Skylight sensor: modules whose state you want to change:
- To select one Skylight sensor: module, double-click the Skylight module in the list.
- To select all Skylight sensor: modules in the list, check the box at the top of the list.
- To select multiple Skylight sensor: modules in the list, check the boxes for each of the devices.
Double-click on the row for a selected module. The Module configuration dialog is displayed.
Select the required state from the Admin state drop-down list:
