In a single configuration job, you can define one or more interfaces to be configured on a managed element.
An interface can be of several types: standard IPv4 and IPv6, bridge and VLAN.
For each interface, you can define up to five IP addresses or address ranges:
- One dynamically assigned IP address in IPv4 format.
- One static IP address in IPv4 format. The static IP address can include:
- subnet
- gateway
- One dynamically assigned IP address in IPv6 format.
- Two static IP addresses in IPv6 format. Each static IP can include:
- subnet (a range specified by a CIDR value from 4 to 127)
- gateway
After you have defined your interfaces configuration job, you can use a CLI configuration job to define routes, if necessary. See "Setting Up a CLI Configuration Job".
To set up an Interfaces configuration job
Access the page Commission ▶ Jobs.
Set all common configuration job settings, as explained in "Creating Configuration Jobs in GUI Mode" and in "Creating Configuration Jobs Using Data Sets".
Select Interfaces in the left pane. The Interfaces tab is displayed. One row in the table corresponds to one interface.
Complete all fields for the interface (a row in the table) as required. For more information on the parameters in the Interfaces tab, see the table below.
If you want to define more interfaces, click the Add
button, or select a row in the table and click the Duplicate 
button. Complete the fields as required.Click Apply, then click Close.
Click the Refresh
button to refresh the user interface.

General
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable | Enable or disable the interface. |
| Interface name | A name to identify the interface. |
| Interface type |

| Port name | The port on which the interface is active. |
IPv4
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| DHCP | Allows the interface to act as a DHCP client and automatically obtain its IP address, DNS server and gateway settings from a DHCP server. |
| Use DHCP route info | Allows the device to obtain routing information from the DHCP server. |
| Static IP until DHCP | Uses the static IP address until an address is resolved by DHCP. |
| IP address | A static IP address, if required. |
| Network mask | The network mask associated with the IP address, if required. |
| Default gateway | A default gateway address provides a shortcut to creating a default gateway through the route configuration. Only one default gateway can be set per device. |
| ICMP redirect | Select this box to enable or disable the interface specific ICMP redirects. |
Bridge
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| Bridge subinterface | Enter the subinterfaces for the bridge. |
| Enable Spanning-Tree protocol | The Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) may be enabled or disabled. |
| Enable sub-interface IP override | This option disables DHCP and resets the IP address of each subinterface to 0.0.0.0. This action is necessary when adding subinterfaces to a management bridge. For example, if the Management interface is assigned address 192.168.1.254 and the Network interface (in-band) is assigned address 192.168.2.100 and you configured a bridge between them, enabling the subinterface IP override would reset all subinterface addresses to 0.0.0.0. You then would be able to assign an IP address to the bridge. The Management and Network interfaces would be part of the bridge and the unit would be accessible via any port that is part of the bridge, using the bridge's IP address (192.168.2.200). |
Bridge VLAN

| Bridge Interface (uses VLAN 1 settings) | Enter the subinterfaces for the bridge VLAN. |
VLAN 1 and VLAN 2
| Parameter | Description |

| VLAN 1 ID VLAN 2 ID | VLAN ID (Management VLAN) assigned to the interface. |
| Ethertype | The Ethertype value for the first or second VLAN ID. The Ethertype may vary, depending on the equipment to which the device is connected:

| Priority | VLAN priority. A value from 0 to 7. |
IPv6
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable | Enables/disables use of IPv6 addresses configured in this tab. |
| DHCPv6 | Determines how the IP address for the interface will be established:

| Router Advertisement Prefix | Enables/disables the use of advertisement prefixes. This should be enabled for autoconfiguration of IP addresses (if DHCPv6 is set to Stateless). |
| Static | Check this checkbox to add one or two static IP addresses. |
| Address 1 | A static IP address (in IPv6 format) for the element. |
| Subnet 1 | The subnet to go with Address 1. Enter a CIDR value (a number from 4 to 127) to specify the range of the subnet. |
| Gateway 1 | An IP address (in IPv6 format). |
| Address 2 | A second static IP address (in IPv6 format) for the element. |
| Subnet 2 | The subnet to go with Address 2. Enter a CIDR value (a number from 4 to 127) to specify the range of the subnet. |
| Gateway 2 | An IP address (in IPv6 format). |
Management
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| Management | Select this box to identify the remote device interface for management (UNI or NNI). |
