Article Summary

The VLAN level for each traffic port on a device must be configured to be used with one or two VLAN tags in the VLAN filters.

When the VLAN level setting is configured as Outer (default), the VLAN filter is matched against the outer VLAN of incoming frames. With this option, the outer VLAN ID can only be used once per port in the VID sets.

When the VLAN level setting is configured as Inner, the VLAN filter is matched against both outer and inner VLANs of incoming frames. With this option, the inner VLAN ID can only be used once per port in the VID sets.
In all cases, the VLAN type must match the filters.
