Setting Up a Backup Configuration Job

Article summary

You can back up the configuration of a managed element from Legacy orchestrator. If necessary, this backup can be restored on the managed element. For more information about configuration backups and how to restore them, see "Managing Backups of Performance Element Configurations".

To set up a Backup configuration job

  1. Access the page Commission ▶ Jobs.

  2. Set all common configuration job settings, as explained in "Creating Configuration Jobs in GUI Mode" or "Creating Configuration Jobs Using Data Sets".

  3. Double click on the Job name you wish to configure, the Backup configuration dialog is displayed.

  1. Complete all fields in the Backup configuration tab as required. For more information on parameters, see the table below.

  2. Click Apply, then click Close.

  3. Click the Refresh Button_Refresh_Generic.png button to refresh the user interface.


Note: On the Legacy orchestrator Docker, Backup configuration job is supported via SFTP only.

Backup destination URLEnter the URL of the server on which you want to store system backup files.

Note: This field is only available when:

  • You are configuring this step manually and Store Backup in EMS is set to False.
  • You are using a dataset (Backup Destination URL Dataset Enable is checked).
Store backup in EMSDetermine whether backup files will be stored on the Legacy orchestrator appliance or on another server.

Possible values:

  • True: Store the backup configuration files on the EMS server (Legacy orchestrator appliance).
  • False: Store the backup configuration files on the server defined in the Backup Destination URL field.
