This article describes the configuration of the CFM MD at a particular maintenance level.

CLI Configurations

To configure MD on the bridge

  1. Login to the privileged EXEC mode.
Your Product> enable


Note: To login into the User Exec mode, enter your username (default is root) and password (default is admin123). To login to the Privileged mode, use the enable command or login with the admin username and password.

  1. Enter into the global Configuration mode.
Your Product# configure terminal
  1. Configure the domain name and maintenance level.
Your Product(config)# ethernet cfm domain name TestDomain1 level 7
Your Product(config-ether-ecfm)#

To delete configured MD

  1. Enter into the global configuration mode and delete the configured MD.
Your Product(config)# no ethernet cfm domain name  TestDomain1 level 7


Notes:
User can configure MD name type/format using ethernet cfm domain format name level command.
Your Product(config)# ethernet cfm domain format char-string name TestDomain2 level 1
User can delete the configured MD name type/format using no ethernet cfm domain format name level command.
Your Product(config)# no ethernet cfm domain format char-string name TestDomain2 level 1

Displaying Maintenance Domain


This section describes the command that is used to display the information (displays the maintenance domain name, index, level, associated number of services configured and MEP archive time for all the Maintenance Domain configured on the bridge) of the CFM Maintenance Domains configured in the system.

CLI Configurations

  1. Once logged in and in global configuration mode, display the MD configured on the bridge.

This section describes the configuration of MD, MA, and MEPs at bridges once logged in and in global configuration mode.

CLI Configurations

At Bridge-A and Bridge-B

  • Configure MD, Service and MEP List.
Your Product(config)# switch 1
Your Product(config-switch)# ethernet cfm domain name OP1 level 5
Your Product(config-ether-ecfm)# service name maop1 vlan 2
Your Product(config-ether-ecfm)# mep crosscheck mpid 10 vlan 2
Your Product(config-ether-ecfm)# mep crosscheck mpid 30 vlan 2
Your Product(config-ether-ecfm)# end

At Bridge-A

  • Configure the Down MEP.
Your Product# configure terminal
Your Product(config)# interface xl-ethernet 0/2
Your Product(config-if)# ethernet cfm mep level 5 mpid 10 vlan 2 active
Your Product(config-ether-mep)# end

At Bridge-B

  • Configure the Down MEP.
Your Product# configure terminal
Your Product(config)# interface xl-ethernet 0/2
Your Product(config-if)# ethernet cfm mep level 5 mpid 30 vlan 2 active
Your Product(config-either-mep)# end
