Configuring Maintenance Domain, Service and MEPs

This article describes the configuration of MD, MA, and MEPs on the switches.

CLI Configurations

At Switch1

  • Configure the Maintenance Domain, Service and MEP List .
    your product(config)# ethernet cfm domain name OP7 level 7
    your product(config-ether-ecfm) # service name maop7 vlan 2
    your product(config-ether-ecfm)# mep crosscheck mpid 1 vlan 2
    your product(config-ether-ecfm)# mep crosscheck mpid 2 vlan 2
    your product(config- ether-ecfm)# exit

  • Configure the Down Maintenance End Point (MEP).
    your product(config)# interface gigabitethernet 0/2
    your product(config-if)# ethernet cfm mep level 7 mpid 1 vlan 2 active
    your product(config-if)# exit

  • Enable the Continuity Check (CCM) transmission.
    your product(config)# ethernet cfm cc enable level 7 vlan 2

  • Enable the Traceroute Cache.
    your product(config)# ethernet cfm traceroute cache

At Switch5

  • Configure the Maintenance Domain, Service, and MEP List.

  • Configure the Default Domain with VLAN and MdLevel for Maintenance Intermediate Point (MIP) creation and configure the MIP in the default domain.

    your product(config-if)# ethernet cfm mip level 7 vlan 4 active
    your product(config-if)# exit

  • Configure the Maintenance Domain, Service, and MEP List.
