Navigating dashboards
The catalog of monitoring dashboards is available from the main application navigation. Note that this includes Legacy dashboards (prior functionality/modeling). Recently used dashboards are listed at the top for quick access and a search is available to help filter down the list.
From the dashboard inventory click to open a dashboard, you also have the option to create, clone and, delete dashboards.
Choosing a dashboard type and group
When creating a dashboard you have the option to add the dashboard to an existing group of dashboards, or create a new group. Dashboard groups help organize large volumes of dashboards and clarify the purpose of the dashboards within the group.
Custom dashboards provide a range of widgets and access to both metric and categorical data to build use-case specific monitoring and/or reporting. To learn more about custom dashboards check out our series of articles on Monitoring, starting with Authoring dashboards.
Purpose-Built dashboards address generally applicable use-cases, you can view more details on Object Violation and Repeat Offenders in their associated articles.
Managing dashboard groups
Dashboard groups are tied to dashboards and can be created when creating or moving a dashboard. Dashboard groups can also be renamed. A dashboard group will disappear if the last dashboard in the group is deleted or moved.
Managing dashboard permissions
Dashboards are created as Private and aren't visible to anyone other than the creator unless dashboard permissions are changed. The visibility of a dashboard is shown in the dashboard list.
To change the permissions of a dashboard you must be the creator or be granted manage privileges to the dashboard. Dashboard permissions can be set for everyone in the system or per user group.
