Bulk Editing Performance Sessions

  • PDF

Article summary

The Bulk Editor enables you to modify multiple sessions at once, without having to delete and re-create them. By using this feature, your sessions will retain their original session numbers.

You can bulk edit:

  • Multiple specific sessions
  • All sessions on a page
  • All sessions in your system.

Modifiable Parameters

The wizard-based Bulk Editor enables you to quickly modify the following session parameters for multiple sessions. By default, modifiable parameters display No change until you modify them.

Note: You cannot bulk edit Session Type. To modify this, you must delete and then re-create the session.

Session Names

You can bulk edit session names by using the search and replace feature.

Note: Regex groups can be used in the name (find and replace) fields.

Interface (Sender and Reflector)

The interface for both sender and reflector may be modified. You can:

  • Change from one interface to another on the same Provider Connectivity Assurance Sensor Control
  • Change one Provider Connectivity Assurance Sensor Control for another.

Session Ports (Sender and Reflector)

You can change session ports for both sender and reflector.

Case 1 - Bulk change selected sessions to one port (sender and reflector)

Specifying a port in the Port field will change the port of all selected sessions to the same port.

Case 2 - Bulk change selected sessions to sender port increments (sender)

Depending on how your network has been set up, you may prefer to run selected sessions on various ports, in order to disperse traffic. This is done by specifying the lowest port number in a series of ports to be used, and then checking the Increment port check box. The system
will then increment the sender port with every session that is being edited.

Example: If the first port is specified as 400, the system will use the next port number for the next session, and so on.

Session Profile

You can modify the following session profile parameters:

  • Payload size (bytes)
  • Packet rate (pkts/s)
  • Interval(s)
  • Vlan priority
  • DSCP
  • Time to live
  • Type
  • Round trip delay (If supported by the session type)
  • Reflector time subtraction (If supported by the session type)

The following sortable columns enable you to track the progress of the changes you have made:
