Applying User Labels to Managed Objects
User labels allow you to group managed objects on-screen and in the CSV reports that you can generate. You can also search for managed objects by user labels.
Some points to be aware of when working with user labels:
User labels are entered on managed objects one at a time.
User labels must be entered carefully. To ensure that it is possible to group managed objects on a user label, they must be entered in the same way for all managed objects that you want to group together under the label.
User labels are not case-sensitive.
User labels are saved with the managed objects in the Legacy orchestrator data store. After you add them, they will appear whenever you view the managed objects in the Inventory page.
To add a user label to managed objects
Access the Inventory page.
Under Managed Object types, click the button.
In the drop-down that displays, select the managed object type you require. You can select items from the Performance elements or the Sensor control categories.
To add a user label for a managed object, double-click in its row under the User label column. The field becomes editable.
Enter the required user label in the field and press Enter to save the label.
Repeat Steps 2 to 5 for each managed object to which you want to add a user label.
To group managed objects by user label
Apply user labels to the managed objects that you want to group, as explained above, "Applying User Labels to Managed Objects".
Click on the heading at the top of the User label column. A menu of column sorting options is displayed.
Select Group by User label from the list.
The list of managed objects is redisplayed with any groups that have been defined with user labels.
