Overview
Customers with large data sets may experience extended load times for broad queries over long time intervals. Cisco Provider Connectivity Assurance (formerly Skylight performance analytics) consolidates data from the network so that users can quickly access high-level network-wide views of performance for large time intervals.
Current data is accessible for a time period of up to eight hours. The default time period is eight hours, but can be changed to one hour.
As of release 22.04 , Cisco Provider Connectivity Assurance offers a more performant view for historical network data with up to a two hour lag from current time. You now have the option to choose from time intervals of 1, 7, or 30 days for Historical data.
Let's take a look at how this differentiation between Historical and Current Data may impact your user experience.
Historical and Current Data
When you click the Time range button in the upper-right of the UI, you will see these two categories:
- Hours - the Current data with a time range of either 1 hour or 8 hours.
- Days - the Historical data with a time range of 1 day, 7 days, or 30 days.
Note: The latest data may not be available due to processing time.
User Experience
There is a slight processing period from data being generated by the sensors or external data sources to when it becomes available for query from Cisco Provider Connectivity Assurance. With the new historical data options, users will notice a longer gap from current time.
