This article provides Docker host requirements for both configuring a virtual machine via a hypervisor and deploying directly onto hardware. These specifications are pivotal for optimal performance and compatibility.
CPU requirements should meet a minimum clock speed of 2.4 GHz
The CPU architecture must support 64-bit computing
Virtual cores must be mapped 1:1 to a CPU hyper-thread (If a Docker host is being deployed on hypervisor)
Network requirements dictate a minimum port speed of 100 Mbps (1Gbps/sec is recommended)
CPU Requirements
Skylight orchestrator requires to be assigned a minimum of 6 virtual cores
For information on requirements, see Docker Deployment Profile Configuration.
Memory Requirements
Skylight orchestrator requires to be assigned a minimum of 30 GB of RAM
For information on requirements, see Docker Deployment Profile Configuration.
Disk Requirements
In all cases, disk storage must be backed by SSD drives. Startup and upgrade issues can arise if slower drives are used.
For information on requirements, see Docker Disk Configuration.
