Article Summary

Custom properties (key-value properties) can help with capture sensor organization by providing descriptive information.

You can add a custom property or assign existing custom properties to capture sensors, and then filter capture sensors by specific custom property value.

A custom property consists of a key and a value. Each key can have multiple values.

All custom properties are shared across all capture sensors. Existing keys and values can be repeated across capture sensors based on your organizational needs.

Add a custom property to a capture sensor

  1. Go to Sensors > Capture > Sensors.

  2. Click the capture sensor row. The right sidebar appears.

  3. In the Summary tab, beside Custom properties, click +.
    Add custom property appears.

  4. Create or add an existing a key:

    • To create a key, enter the key name in the text box, then click .

    • To add an existing key, select from the drop-down list, then click .

  5. Assign a value.

    • To create a value, enter the value in the text box, then press Enter.

    • To add an existing value, select from the drop-down list, then press Enter.

Edit the custom property of a capture sensor

  1. Go to Sensors > Capture > Sensors.

  2. Click the capture sensor row. The right sidebar appears.

  3. In the Summary tab, Custom properties, click the custom property.

  4. Assign a value.

    • To create a value, enter the value in the text box, then press Enter.

    • To use an existing value, select from the drop-down list, then press Enter.

    If the existing value is shared across different captures, the edited value will be saved as a new value for the key.

Delete a custom property from a capture sensor

  1. Go to Sensors > Capture > Sensors.

  2. Click the capture sensor row. The right sidebar appears.

  3. In the Summary tab, Custom properties, click the custom property.

  4. Click x beside the value.


Note: If the value is not associated with a key on another capture, the value will be deleted. If the key is not associated with any other captures, the key will be deleted.


Filter capture sensors by custom property

  1. Go to Sensors > Capture > Sensors.

  2. Click the filter icon.

  3. Under Categorical results, click the custom property.

  4. Select the values, then click .

View custom properties of multiple capture sensors

  1. Go to Sensors > Capture > Sensors.

  2. Check the check box for the capture sensors. The right sidebar appears.

The right sidebar displays the custom properties of the selected capture sensors. The value displays if all selected capture sensors share the same key and value. Otherwise, the value appears as "-".
