Sessions can be correlated to segments when the topology represents the same elements. This correlation allows session metrics to be displayed on the segment routing dashboard and the segment path analytics details page. This document explains how to set up the correlation and select the session metrics to be used on the segment routing pages.
Metadata Correlation
Metadata on the session can be used to link a segment to one or more sessions. To do this, two metadata categories must be created and assigned to the session. The values for these metadata categories correspond to the two node names that represent a segment’s endpoints.
To link sessions to segments by creating and assigning metadata categories:
Navigate to Settings > Assets > Overview.

Set the two endpoints to the metadata categories that will hold the node names.

Navigate to Inventory > Sessions.
For each session, enter the two node names corresponding to the segment the session represents.
Note: Ensure to use exact names and case as the provisioned segment node.

Select Session Metrics
To use session metrics on the segment routing pages, specify which metric(s) will represent a segment-level metric. Because the full segment inventory may be covered by multiple session data sources (and a segment may be represented by multiple sessions), you must provide a hierarchy mapping session data sources to metrics.
Navigate to Settings > Assets.

Click + Add Metrics and choose a metric name.
a. Populate the mappings by selecting the metrics and session data sources that represent the overarching synonymous segment metric.
Note: The order in this list will be used to choose the correct singular underlying session to compute the segment metric. In this example, if a segment had a TWAMP-PE session and a DMM session, Delay (Avg) would be used because it is ranked first in the list.

The session-based segment metric will now be available in the segment routing dashboard.
